Today I am thankful for… the pink pigeon!
As I was driving home from a meeting this morning, I couldn’t believe my eyes!!! On the side of the road was a flock of grey pigeons but amongst them was this dazzling pink pigeon! Of course I didn’t have time to take a pic so the one I saw was much brighter than this one here but what really captured me was a sense of pride! Well done to this obvious outsider of the group I thought, to take up friendship with the ‘regular’ grey crested pigeons and not look out-of-place!
After only just talking about the sense to feel normal amongst a group, this little pigeon (a spotted turtle-dove I’ve later discovered) needn’t worry and taught me a valuable lesson today! Which is to have faith in myself and to celebrate who I am. We aren’t all the same, and boy wouldn’t the world be boring if we were! There are characteristics and physical differences about all of us that determine our individuality. And it’s through our own uniqueness and the things that set us apart that really lend to making us shine! My lil mate the pink pigeon, as I’ll call him, made me smile today because without knowing he made me feel proud of myself! Sometimes our paths are not chosen for us and our physical differences may be what set us apart but they don’t have to define or “pigeon-hole” you into a demographic! Celebrate who you are and walk proud amongst your flock, because everyone has their own story and its that uniqueness that sets you apart! Celebrate you! And if you find a pink pigeon, how about smiling too!
What are you thankful for dear Naked?
With love, light and gratitude xx
