My Thankful Thursday today is one of sincerest gratitude; I am thankful for… Jess! The world has been knocked, slammed and punched in the guts with the news of Jess’ passing, but as we cleanse and heal from the sadness of loosing our inspirational warrior we can rejoice in all that she left with us. EMPOWERMENT! Jess empowered many daily through her blog posts, her speeches and her writings! On a personal level she empowered me to pull myself from the dark avalanche of my terminal diagnosis. She gave this gift unselfishly and authentically. She was criticized by many for thinking outside the box, for wanting to be in charge of her health when there were very few options available… but she was also loved by many! How she was loved!!!!
So thank you dear Jess for all that you have done for me! For allowing me to have the strength to step forward when I was scared! For providing the information to the questions I never knew to ask! For encouraging a new way of thinking! For being a movement to a healthy mindset, not only for me but the world over. For allowing me to look inward, tearing away the cobwebs of self-doubt! For being a vessel of hope! You are my star!
My tribute to you is my poem “The Peace Star”! May you shine brightly on our lives and may you be the beacon of many more acts of gratitude.
