Today I am thankful that… I asked!
Earlier I shared over on Insty about a situation where I took the ‘bull by the horn’ so to speak and jumped online to ask a dedicated Community Forum a question. For a number of weeks we have been trying to figure and sort out a number of issues by ourselves. Constantly scratching our heads, wondering what we could be doing better and completely lost in the ‘why’!
This morning I had enough! That impatient side of me came out, so I decided to ask someone else! Seems bloody simple and obvious, right?
Seriously, why didn’t I do that in the very beginning, you may ask! Let me share that I have no idea… my reasoning was to persevere, “we will sort this problem out” my husband and I both thought.
I think for many of us we think a problem is easily answered or can easily be resolved with knack, persistence and a lot of colouring outside the lines; when it is not, we are left completely baffled.
Questions run rampant:
“What am I doing wrong?”
“What could I do better?”
“Why is this happening?”
Many questions that I am sure could relate to a multitude of different circumstances and yet we continue to carry on, walking the same path, shifting the outcome slightly but not truly understanding why. That little voice, our ego, creeps in and says “I know why”… “I know everything”, until we realise that little voice often doesn’t know everything! And BAM we are hurled into the reality of our present situation.
Today I am glad I left that ego at the door and took the time to ask! And in return I received helpful advice, professional guidance and an action plan to implement.
There is a big hell yes to that!
So today, I ask.. is there a burning question that you desire to ask of someone. Is there something that you need help to resolve? Will it guide you on a much happier path? Then if so, why not take the leap. What harm is there in asking?
And while I am on the topic of asking… what are you thankful for today for Thankful Thursdays dear Naked? Please feel free to share below, I’d love to hear!
With love, light and bundles of gratitude xx
