Today on this soon to be wet Queensland Thursday, I am thankful for… replies!
When my fiancé, Ant and I set out to send our letters to The Australian Senators and Federal Members of Parliament requesting urgent consideration be made to fast tracking TGA and PBS approval of immunotherapy drug treatments like Keytruda for melanoma patients in Australia, we knew we would get some response but the replies we have received to date have been lovely and personal, and not your standard template reply.
It gives me hope for when the PBAC meet in March to discuss what drugs will be placed on the PBS that the bodies who are in position to make the decisions will be aware of the plights of myself, my fiancé, the advocates, the hundreds of thousands signed petitions and the institutes who work to make the awareness known, and they will know the stories of those fighting for each day just to share another moment with their loved ones. I’ve never been one to place my hopes in the hands of pharmaceuticals but when you know that a drug has the ability to extend life and make that life bearable to exist without making you sicker then you know it’s something that the world needs to know about.
Please listen PBAC and make the replies received seem validated… And make the HOPE real!!!
