Today, I am thankful for… Buchi!
Actually most days I am thankful for Buchi Kombucha, but of late my beloved Kombucha has been absent from my local health food store. Where has Buchi gone you ask… well they haven’t gone anywhere and that’s the reassuring thing!
Yesterday I was fortunate to take a visit to the Buchi Kombucha Brewery and it was such a rewarding experience. Director, Head Brewer, and self-proclaimed all round nice guy (which I can certainly support!), Jason Callendar is a passionate man along with the gorgeous Dr Sarah Lantz, and enthusiastic Buchi Kids and their beautiful team of brewing artisans! With a passionate motto of ‘People, Planet, Profit’ – materialized by brewing raw kombucha and other gut-loving ferments using only the freshest certified organic ingredients. Their passion supports sustainability, local producers, suppliers and artisans and reducing the footprint on our beautiful planet. Since their inception, Buchi have been brewing a full-flavoured, naturally carbonated kombucha using the same technique that was originally born over 2000 years ago. The result is one of the freshest and cleanest brews on the local market. Unfortunately due to inconsistent liquor by-laws, Buchi were forced to remove their beautiful product from the shelves to comply with Queensland Liquor Licensing legislation (of 0.5% as opposed to the Australian Food Standards which is at 1.15% in other States).
Buchi is a daily addition in our household and I credit it for maintaining my strong gut health (though its living bacteria = probiotics), which I believe is essential in everyone’s diet.
Through a crowdfunding campaign (where anyone can pledge across Australia), Buchi are hoping they can get their beautiful, authentic, fermented, gut-loving Buchi products back to market in time for summer. But they need your support to get over the line: http://www.pozible.com/project/200415. There are only four (4) days remaining of the campaign and they need your support, please pledge!
For me, my passion is to support local producers and suppliers that I 100% believe in. Buchi are hands down my number 1 favourite producer, and I don’t take favourites lightly! I love these guys; their kombucha has been an integral part of my diet! You often see me sipping on a drink while waiting out my time at hospital or when I want to have an afternoon drink with my mates while everyone else is sipping their wines and beers (mine at least is helping my digestive system go to work)! We even supplied Buchi at our wedding and yes it was a hit, as it rightly should be! I am so thankful that Buchi and their ethos came into my life. We are so blessed to have the most incredible businesses on our doorstep, so we should do everything we can to support their ability to shine as they so rightly should!
What are thankful for dear Nakeds?
With love, light and Buchi xx
