I am thankful for… My Crew!
Today I am thankful for my crew! Yesterday was an epically long 7 hour session at the hospital and yes, don’t worry it is not normally like this but I have experienced a few too many of these days through my regular hospital routine. It’s by no fault of anyone, its unfortunately the demand that faces the hospital system when so many people need their precious help. It’s on these days that I am 100% appreciative to “my crew”! My husband Ant, my mum and my dad do their rounds of holding my hand or looking after the hound when I know a hospital day awaits me. They are the ultimate tag team!!!
Like yesterday my hubba took once again another annual leave day from work to be there with me on my results day, while the folks got hound-sitting duties! We’ve all made this pact that Ant accompanies me too all scan results days because I need some handholding. And I do like holding his hand! š For a one income family you can understand that this no doubt takes its toll ultimately on future holidays we can spend together, while my folks have to travel an hour and half round trip to help out for their ‘grown up’ daughter. To say I am grateful merely sounds like words when truly I don’t know how I would do it all without them. Often I find that I’m off in some distant land of deep contemplation or as I tell my poor mum, “its quiet time now” Hahahaha when a wave of exhaustion runs over me. They get me! And they know that these days although tirelessly burdensome on all of us can not be done without the support of each other.
For every family that experiences cancer or any sort of chronic illness, remember the “crew” that helps get each and everyone through the mundane days spent at hospitals and appointments! Give them a shout out of thanks! Tell them you appreciate them and what they do and by all means be grateful of the time that you get to spend with them!
What are you thankful for darling Naked?
