PATIENT ADVOCACY
If you are seeking the expertise of a cancer or lymphoedemea (a chronic side effect associated with cancer treatments) patient or are running a patient driven initiative (with the focus of the patient and their family/carers at the forefront), feel free to touch base with Kathy to discuss further.
Kathy has dedicated many years to patient voice initiatives particularly relating to the importance of the consumer voice, and regulatory access to new medicines. Kathy has spoken at a number of medical, patient and pharmaceutical led events and has travelled throughout Australia, including several speaking events at the Australian Parliament House in Canberra along with a 250 attendee (medical and pharmaceutical) delegation in Tokyo, Japan. While public speaking does not come naturally for Kathy, unlike writing and art, she believes that there are important messages and stories to be shared that are bigger than her own ego. Kathy has also contributed to a number of medical and research publications, along with being an invited participant in patient-led workshops.
Kathy is also an advocate of incorporating mind, body and soul therapies and techniques to assist healing associated with trauma and fatigue that accompanies a cancer diagnosis.
If you wish to discuss any of the above further with Kathy, please do so by completing the below contact form or emailing Kathy at thenakedgardiner@gmail.com.
